Citation CJ3
The Cessna Citation CJ3 series jet, is part of a group of CessnaJets built by Cessna Aircraft Company based out of Wichita, Kansas. This series of corporate jet is based upon the Model 525 CitationJet, which was built to replace the Citation and Citation I. This "family" of jets was launched in 1989. The CJ3 made its first flight in 2003 and the delivery to the first customer came in 2004.
The exterior of the plane is where this tour begins. The CJ3 Citation showcases duel Williams FJ44-3A series engines and fuel efficient turbo fans, adding an extra 920 pounds of takeoff thrust per side. It is also the first jet in its class to use a dual channel full-authority digital engine control (FADEC), which simplifies engine control by ensuring engine synchronization and maximum fuel efficency. The flight deck also integrates a Rockwall Collins pro line 21 system that can be altered to accommodate a co-pilot. The natural lamir-flow design wings that were already present on this jet were further enhanced when this model extended the wings even further. The T-tail wing design, along with the other upgrades to the exterior, including a trailing link main landing gear system, have made a maximum takeoff weight of 3470 pounds possible, while simultaneously increasing lift and reducing drag. The CJ3 is one of the most economical and fuel efficient planes for long trips but it has the capability to land on runways as small as 3,180 feet long placing its passengers significantly closer to their destination.
The upgrades to the interior are as impressive to those on the exterior. The cab is extended by 4 feet, allowing even the tallest client to stretch out in comfort. The CJ3 is designed to seat 6 in a club arrangement; however the cab can be customized to fit eight depending on the request of the client. It amplifies the natural light of the skies with 14 elliptical windows. The refreshment center also showcases a customizable cabinet and shelves increasing the overall spaciousness of the cabin making it one of the best on the market.
