Global Express
Bombardier Aerospace, a Canadian aerospace company, manufactures the luxurious Global Express. The first Express flew in 1996. Since 2010 over 400 have been built. The Global Express was built to fill the need of intercontinental travel in the realm of private jets. The aircraft has a length of 99 feet, a crew of 2 to 4, and can seat 8 to 19 people. The cruising speed hovers around 499 nautical miles per hour with a range of 7,000 miles and a cruising altitude of 42,000 feet.
The Express features high tech avionics provided by Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion and is powered by twin BMW Rolls Royce BR-710 turbofans. The engines allow this class to fly intercontinental ranges such as New York to Tokyo Japan non-stop. This range puts the jet in competition with the likes of the Gulfstream G550, Dassault Falcon 7X and the Boeing Business Jet.
The Global Express features a large cabin that can be divided into three parts for privacy. Comfort on a long intercontinental flight is paramount on a Global Express. The large cabin offers luxurious seating that can be configured for conferences and meetings. The extra insulation provided to the aircraft reduces noise and vibration. Some cabin amenities available include: 17 channel satcom, fax capability, a full on entertainment system equipped with DVD/CD/VHS, finally a movie screen and fully stocked galley.
The Global Express was one of the first in its class to breach the intercontinental barrier offering luxury travel to businessmen without sacrificing on speed, comfort and range.
